Introduction to the evaluation submitted July 2015 . The Heritage Lottery Fund has supported the investigation of an archaeological site in Nottinghamshire where, 14,000 years ago, roaming herds of grazing animals attracted our hunter- gatherer ancestors to a crossing point of the River Trent.
This Late Upper Palaeolithic archaeological site is of national importance. It is close to present-day Newark and the location is now known as Farndon Fields. Full Evaluation:-
